Dice Games That Work Offline, No Wifi Required
A truly offline dice game runs entirely on your device: no login screen, no ad server, no connection check. Feltzee is one: the classic five-dice game with zero internet required, no ads, and no account, in a 5.5 MB download.
Why “offline” often isn't
Plenty of apps advertise offline play but still stall without a connection, because ads need to load, a login token needs refreshing, or a cloud save wants to sync. The pattern is familiar: the game technically runs, but interstitials hang, buttons grey out, and a “reconnecting…” spinner follows you around the table.
What to check before you're actually offline
- No ads. Ad-supported games need the network by definition. See finding a dice app without ads.
- No account or login. Anything with a session can expire mid-flight.
- On-device saves. Your in-progress game and high scores should live on the phone, not a server.
- The airplane-mode test. Turn on airplane mode and play a full game before you actually board.
Feltzee passes the airplane-mode test
Feltzee needs the internet exactly zero times: no ads to fetch, no account to verify, no server anywhere (the privacy label is literally “Data Not Collected”). Your in-progress game, settings, and top-10 high scores all live on the device. The one online feature, Game Center Daily and All Time leaderboards, is opt-in and simply posts your finished score next time you're connected. At 5.5 MB it also downloads in seconds on airport wifi, right before they close the doors.

Quick answers
Do free dice games work on airplanes?
Only if they're genuinely offline. Ad-supported games often hang without a connection. Test in airplane mode before you fly.
Does Feltzee need wifi for anything?
Only the optional Game Center leaderboards. Playing, saving games, and local high scores are fully offline.
